I’m a Saudi-born, LA-based self-taught artist, working across illustration, painting, and photography. My work, which often combines mixed media such as watercolor, gouache, oil pastel, and graphite, explores the emotions, thoughts, and experiences that can’t always be put into words. Through the fictional characters I create, I challenge societal norms and dive into themes like women’s sexuality, mental health, gender expectations, and the complexities of shame imposed on women by society. My work also focuses on everyday moments that often go unnoticed—like a quiet pause in a conversation or the nuanced elements of a scene that a film might emphasize through a deliberate zoom. These small moments become a space for reflection, inviting people to see the beauty in the overlooked. My art exists in a world of its own—a place where mysticism and surrealism mix with heartbreak and hope, creating a space where the unexpected feels at home, and viewers are invited to question the boundaries we take for granted.
